Week 9 Recap: Temecula FC Making Its Case, Again

COLTON, CA (October 30, 2023) - Last season, Temecula FC's defense was the best in the Southwest Region.

This season, the Quails are turning on the offense and have scored 20 goals over their last two matches after a 7-0 victory over Ocelot I.E. FC Colton High School on Sunday, Oct. 29.

The last unbeaten team in the Southwest Region, Temecula FC (5-2-0 overall) is just one point back of Capo FC and FCGS Force for a share of first place.

On Saturday, Ayuk Tambe and Ronny Enrique Toledo Ortiz scored two goals each as FCGS Force rattled off a 13-1 win over Olympiacos CA at Biola University in La Mirada to stay at the top of the table.

Daniel Castro scored a couple of goals - including a PK - as Desert FC grabbed a 3-2 win over Lions United FC at Hovley Soccer Park in Palm Desert.

Parker Scalzo scored six times and Julian Amaya added four more as Capo FC ran away with a 12-0 win over Lobos FC at Capistrano Valley High School in San Juan Capistrano.

Landon Elfstrom scored a brace as Bay Area United FC earned a 5-1 win over Windmill City FC at Cayetano Park in Livermore.

On Sunday, Luis Chavez netted a hat trick for Battleborn FC in a 4-2 win over JASA RWC at Red Morton Park in Redwood City.

Sterling Penniston-John scored two early goals as Las Vegas Legends FC sailed to an easy win over Ocelot LA FC in the first match of a tripleheader at Colton High School, and Modesto City FC and Ocelot Stockton TLJ FC played to a 3-3 draw at Stagg High School in Stockton.
